Danish Hurdler Sets Personal Record, Advances to EM Semifinals

Danish hurdler Martha Danneskjold Rasmussen has narrowly qualified for the semifinals of the 400-meter hurdles at the European Athletics Championships in Birmingham, England. She secured the 12th and final spot with a new personal best time.

In the preliminary heat held Monday afternoon, Rasmussen clocked in at 56.34 seconds. This performance edged out the 13th-fastest time, set by Germany's Vanessa Baldé at 56.52 seconds, ensuring Rasmussen's progression to the next round.

Earlier on Monday, Danish sprinter Gustav Lundholm also advanced to the semifinals in the men's 400 meters. He achieved the tenth-best time overall with 45.83 seconds, earning his place in the next stage of the competition.

Several other Danish athletes are scheduled to compete later on Monday evening in Birmingham. This includes fellow hurdlers Ida Beiter Bomme and Mette Kammer, as well as hammer thrower Katrine Koch Jacobsen.
