Danish solar panels produced record electricity in June

Denmark's solar panels generated a record amount of electricity in June, fueled by a sunny summer. The total output reached 850 gigawatt-hours, a figure equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of about 210,000 households.

This record production means solar power accounted for 26 percent of Denmark's total electricity usage in June. However, the organization Green Power Denmark clarifies that this does not mean solar panels covered 26 percent of the country's overall consumption. Denmark actively exchanges energy with neighboring countries, importing 2.6 terawatt-hours and exporting 1.6 terawatt-hours in June.

Electricity production from solar installations has shown a consistent upward trend throughout the summer months, surpassing last year's figures in each month. This increase highlights the growing contribution of solar energy to Denmark's power supply, despite the complexities introduced by international energy trading.
