Danish speedway rider misses podium after promising final in Poland

Danish speedway rider Michael Jepsen Jensen narrowly missed the podium at the Grand Prix in Lodz, Poland, securing fourth place after a promising performance in the final heat. Jensen experienced a strong start in the decisive race, momentarily taking the lead. However, his rivals eventually overtook him, leaving him just outside the top three.

Britain's Robert Lambert claimed victory in the seventh round of the World Championship, while the other Danish competitors, Anders Thomsen and Leon Madsen, failed to advance to the final heat. Thomsen, who had won the previous World Championship round in Målilla, Sweden, could not replicate that success in Poland, finishing outside the top 10 after the initial heats.

Despite the mixed results for the Danish contingent, the riders initially showed strong form in Lodz. Thomsen won his first heat, and Madsen secured second place, with Jepsen Jensen adding another Danish heat victory. Both Jepsen Jensen and Madsen qualified for the last chance qualifier, where Jepsen Jensen successfully secured a spot in the final, while Madsen was eliminated.

With three World Championship rounds remaining in Riga, Vojens, and Torun, all three Danish riders are still competing for a top-seven finish in the overall standings, which would guarantee them a place in the 2027 World Championship series.
