DAP Negeri Sembilan to Name Replacement for Chairman Anthony Loke Soon

The Negeri Sembilan chapter of the Democratic Action Party (DAP) will soon announce a candidate to succeed Anthony Loke as its state chairman. DAP Negeri Sembilan Secretary Cha Kee Chin stated that internal discussions are underway and he is confident the matter will be settled promptly.

"We do not have a specific timeline for naming [the candidate], but I am confident it will be done in the near future," Cha Kee Chin told Utusan Malaysia when contacted.

He also commented on Loke's recent electoral defeat in the Chennah state constituency. Cha Kee Chin expressed surprise at the outcome but attributed it to "malicious allegations" from the opposition. He specifically refuted claims made by UMNO Secretary-General Datuk Dr. Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki, who had questioned who would be the Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidate for Menteri Besar if Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun lost the state election. Dusuki had also questioned whether the people of Negeri Sembilan would want Anthony Loke as Menteri Besar.

"I don't understand why UMNO Barisan Nasional (BN) leaders with high qualifications would say Anthony Loke would be named as the candidate for Menteri Besar. That is truly a malicious allegation, and people believe it," Cha Kee Chin said.
