Darida motivated by past loss ahead of Panathinaikos clash

Viktoria Plzeň midfielder Vladimír Darida is approaching the Conference League playoff match against Panathinaikos with a significant personal drive. The Czech international revealed that a previous defeat in the Greek Cup final against the same opponent, during his time with Aris Thessaloniki, fuels his determination.

"I have an extra personal motive for this game because I have something to repay them for," Darida stated. "They beat us in the Cup final when I was playing for Aris, and I still have that in mind. I would like to repay them for that painful loss."

Darida, who also shared insights into the expected atmosphere in Athens, acknowledged that playing at the larger Olympic Stadium, rather than Panathinaikos's usual home ground, might alter the experience. However, he believes his team, having faced Beşiktaş, will not be easily intimidated. He emphasized the team's need to be more daring and effective in attack to secure a favorable result, aiming to keep their qualification hopes alive for the second leg.
