Davutoğlu's office denies Qatar Emir advisor claim

A journalist's claim that Ahmet Davutoğlu, the leader of Turkey's Gelecek Party, would take on an advisory role for the Emir of Qatar has been firmly denied by Davutoğlu's press office. Sebahattin Önkibar, a journalist and writer, had reported on his YouTube channel that Davutoğlu was set to become a chief foreign policy advisor to the Emir, citing a highly confident source.

Ufuk Karcı, Davutoğlu's press advisor, addressed the allegations on social media platform X. He acknowledged Davutoğlu's extensive and long-standing relationships with many regional heads of state and government, including the current and late Emirs of Qatar. However, Karcı emphasized that Davutoğlu has not accepted any honorary or official positions since concluding his term as Prime Minister of Turkey.

Karcı further stated that Davutoğlu, as a former Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Turkey with deep knowledge of the region and its people, is often consulted for his expertise without requiring any formal title. The press office categorically refuted the baseless claims of an advisory role for the Emir of Qatar and urged the public not to give credence to unsubstantiated rumors.
