Netanyahu's son targeted in alleged Iran assassination plot; Yair Netanyahu abruptly left Miami, report says

Israeli intelligence uncovered a plot by Iran to assassinate Yair Netanyahu, the son of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in Miami last December, according to a U.S. law enforcement source cited by Newsmax.

The intelligence agency reportedly alerted U.S. authorities to the assassination plan. The source indicated that Iranian agents were present in Miami and believed to be surveilling Yair Netanyahu's residence and movements. Yair Netanyahu, who was living in Florida, was advised to leave the U.S. immediately, accompanied by his Israeli security detail.

He reportedly departed Miami without his belongings and returned directly to Israel. Israeli Channel 12 television reported that some media outlets had known about the assassination plot for months but were prevented from publishing it due to censorship. Prime Minister Netanyahu had previously alluded to the assassination plot in an interview, though he did not specify which of his two sons was the target.
