The attention of the Office of the Honourable Minister of Defence has been drawn to a malicious and entirely fabricated rumour circulating across various online and social media platforms alleging that the Honourable Minister, General Christopher Gwabin Musa (retd), has expressed an intention to step down from his position.

In a statement issued on Monday by the minister’s Special Assistant on Media, Leah Katung-Babatunde, the office unequivocally stated that the rumors were "absolute falsehood borne out of complete mischief." The statement urged the public and media organizations to disregard the unsubstantiated claims.

Katung-Babatunde affirmed that General Musa remains fully committed to his duties and is focused on executing the nation's defense strategy. She emphasized his dedication to his national security mandate, noting that "results are already being seen." The office cautioned against the circulation of unverified information and advised the public to seek clarification directly from the minister's office before publishing or sharing related content.
