Delta Central APC Endorses Tinubu, Oborevwori, Others

Leaders and stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nigeria's Delta Central Senatorial District have united ahead of the 2027 general election, issuing a unanimous endorsement for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, Senator Ede Dafinone, and all other party candidates. The move signals a strong push for cohesion and intensified grassroots mobilization within the party.

The endorsement came during the Delta Central APC stakeholders’ strategic meeting in Effurun.

The endorsement occurred during a strategic meeting in Effurun, where Chief O’tega Emerhor, the party’s founding leader, moved the motion. He lauded President Tinubu and Governor Oborevwori for their policies and programs, stating they are positively impacting Nigerians and Deltans. The motion was unanimously adopted through a voice vote, confirmed by Delta State APC Chairman, Chief Solomon Arenyeka.

Moving the motion for the endorsement, which seconded by Hon Halims Agoda, the party’s founding leader, Chief O’tega Emerhor, commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for their policies and programmes, which he is impacting Nigerians and Deltans positively.

Arenyeka highlighted that these stakeholders' meetings, conceived after a review of party activities, are yielding positive results. He noted the high caliber of attendees reflected unprecedented unity and indicated that Delta Central was setting a precedent for other senatorial districts. The chairman specifically praised Governor Oborevwori for his tireless efforts in building and sustaining unity within the APC across Delta State, citing the governor's extensive travel, reconciliation efforts, and strengthening of party structures.

He described the Delta Central meeting as evidence that the strategy was yielding positive results, adding that the calibre of personalities present reflected unprecedented unity within the party and demonstrated that Delta Central had set the pace for the remaining senatorial districts.

Chairman of the APC in Delta Central Senatorial District, Chief Paulinus Akpeki, stated that the governor's emergence as the party's governorship candidate demonstrates confidence in his leadership, inclusive governance, and performance. Akpeki attributed the successful conduct of party congresses and primaries to Oborevwori’s leadership, which fostered internal democracy and positioned the APC for future electoral success. He noted that extensive consultations, fairness, and maturity led to a peaceful outcome, strengthening the party despite predictions of internal crises.

He commended Governor Oborevwori for what he described as tireless efforts in building and sustaining unity within the APC across Delta State, saying the governor had invested considerable time travelling across local government areas, reconciling aggrieved members and strengthening party structures.
