The race for the leadership of the Democratic Party of Korea has intensified as three key contenders have dispersed across the country to court party members. Song Young-gil is focusing on presenting his policy vision, while Kim Min-seok is emphasizing conflicts within the party and with the government. Song Young-gil visited Suncheon, Yeosu, Gwangyang, and Damyang in the Jeolla region, a traditional stronghold for the party. He aims to rally support by outlining his proposed policies and future direction for the party. His campaign emphasizes a forward-looking approach, seeking to unite the party under a clear vision.

Jung Chung-rae has traveled to Gangwon Province, the next venue for a party primary, where he has directly attacked Kim Min-seok. Jung's strategy involves highlighting past controversies and perceived betrayals, aiming to disqualify Kim in the eyes of party members. This approach focuses on historical grievances and loyalty within the party.

Kim Min-seok, also campaigning in the Jeolla region, is positioning himself as a unifier by focusing on the need to resolve conflicts between the party and the presidential office. He argues that internal strife and external tensions are detrimental to the party's goals and seeks to present himself as a leader capable of navigating these challenges and restoring harmony.
