Denizli Gears Up for 6th International Jazz Festival

Denizli, Turkey, is gearing up to host the 6th International Denizli Jazz Festival from June 14-21, 2026. This year's event marks a significant revival and continuation of a festival that first began in 1997.

The festival is a collaborative effort involving the Denizli Governorship Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism, Buldan Municipality, Pamukkale Philharmonic Association, Denizli Metropolitan Municipality, Sevda Cenap And Music Foundation, and CazKedisi Poetry and Culture Magazine. It will be held across two distinct locations: the Buldan Ancient City of Tripolis and the Denizli Ice Skating Rink.

This year's 6th International Denizli Jazz Festival will be held between June 14-21, 2026, in cooperation with the Denizli Governorship Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism, Buldan Municipality, Pamukkale Philharmonic Association, Denizli Metropolitan Municipality, Sevda Cenap And Music Foundation, and CazKedisi Poetry and Culture Magazine.

Adding to the festival's prestige, renowned jazz artist Önder Focan, who performed at the inaugural festival in 1997, will be honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award. Focan will also grace the stage with a performance for his fans. The festival will also pay tribute to the legendary Be-Bop artist Charlie Parker, a highlight following a similar tribute to Muvaffak Falay in previous years.

Önder Focan, one of the important jazz artists who took the stage in the first year of the Festival in 1997 and ignited the Festival fire, will be given this year's Lifetime Achievement Award.

International participation is a key feature, with notable jazz groups and artists from the Netherlands, Italy, Russia, England, and the Czech Republic set to perform alongside Turkish artists. A special ensemble of five young jazz musicians from Denizli, led by the Denizli Jazz Club, will also be featured. Beyond concerts, attendees can look forward to various discussions, documentary screenings, and workshops.
