Deutsche Bahn Deploys Mobile Craft Teams for Faster Station Repairs in Saxony-Anhalt

Deutsche Bahn (DB) is accelerating repairs and maintenance at train stations across Saxony-Anhalt by deploying two new mobile craft teams. These teams, each consisting of four workers, are strategically based in Magdeburg and Halle to cover the northern and southern regions of the state. The initiative aims to address defects, damage, and graffiti more swiftly and flexibly, contributing to cleaner and safer station environments, particularly for smaller, rural stations.

In total, Deutsche Bahn has established mobile craft teams at 44 locations across Germany, employing approximately 200 individuals. Each team is responsible for a specific region and provides support to the roughly 400 station and building inspectors. This concept was previously tested in a pilot project before its nationwide rollout. The mobile teams are a key component of DB's immediate action program focused on improving safety and cleanliness at its stations.

Deutsche Bahn is investing over 50 million euros this year in this program. The company manages 163 traffic stations under the Magdeburg station management and an additional 126 stations under the Halle management. The introduction of these mobile teams signifies a commitment to enhancing the passenger experience and maintaining the infrastructure more efficiently.
