Devastating wildfire engulfs Greek settlement in shocking video

Shocking video footage captures the terrifying moment a wildfire swept through Porto Germeno, Greece, leaving a trail of destruction. The fire, which ignited in Boeotia on Friday, July 31, and rapidly advanced into West Attica, has been described as a "fiery onslaught" that "levelled everything in its path."

The blaze raged uncontrollably, consuming extensive forest areas and causing severe damage to homes and properties. Satellite data analysis from the European Copernicus EMS, processed by the National Observatory of Athens, indicates that by Monday, August 3, the fire had scorched approximately 80,800 acres. This makes it one of the most significant environmental disasters in the region in recent years.

The aftermath presents a devastating scene: where lush greenery once dominated, now lies a vast expanse of black, burnt trees, and ashes. Only small pockets of vegetation managed to survive the inferno.
