Disciplinary tribunal denounces Blanco y Negro director Nicolás Monckeberg and seeks maximum punishment

Nicolás Monckeberg, a director of Blanco y Negro and former Chilean minister, has been reported to the ANFP Honor Tribunal by members of the First Chamber of the Disciplinary Tribunal. The panel members are seeking the highest punishment available under the Code of Ethics for Professional Football Directors.

According to La Tercera, the complaint carries the signatures of First Chamber president Exequiel Segall and the other members of the body. It followed comments Monckeberg made after the tribunal sanctioned Colo Colo striker Javier Correa.

Correa initially received a four-match suspension for remarks about referee Nicolás Gamboa after the Copa de la Liga match between Huachipato and Colo Colo. The punishment was later reduced to three matches.

After the decision became public, Monckeberg publicly questioned the disciplinary body’s operation. He also wrote on X that there was an application of the rules that he criticized. The tribunal members’ complaint now places his comments before the ANFP’s Honor Tribunal, which will consider the requested sanction.
