The European Union's DiscoverEU program returns, inviting 18-year-olds to explore the continent's cultural heritage. This initiative, which has already opened its application platform, offers a unique opportunity for those born between July 2007 and June 2008 to embark on a life-changing journey, with travel expenses covered by the EU. The application period is now open and will close on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at 12:00 PM.

This program specifically targets young individuals on the cusp of adulthood. Eligible participants must be born between July 1, 2007, and June 30, 2008, and be legal residents of EU member states or associated third countries like North Macedonia, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Serbia, and Turkey. The goal is to foster a deeper understanding and appreciation of European culture and identity among the youth.

Successful applicants will receive a travel pass, primarily for train journeys, promoting sustainable urban mobility. Additionally, a discount card will be provided for reduced rates on accommodation, cultural sites, and local transportation. Participants can travel individually or in groups of up to five people, with the travel period extending from July 1, 2026, to September 30, 2027, for a maximum of 30 days. The application process involves completing a short quiz about the European Union on the European Youth Portal, using one's ID or passport number.
