Djurgården bounces back – dominates Malmö

Djurgården bounced back from two consecutive losses, including a significant derby defeat, with a commanding 3-0 win against Malmö FF. The victory, achieved on the road, saw the Stockholm-based team climb to fourth place in the Allsvenskan.

Kristian Lien opened the scoring for Djurgården in the 35th minute with a header, marking his twelfth goal of the season. The assist came from Piotr Johansson's precise cross during a swift counter-attack. Despite Malmö FF controlling possession before halftime, they struggled to create clear scoring opportunities.

In the second half, Jeppe Okkels extended Djurgården's lead in the 58th minute. Patric Åslund then sealed the 3-0 victory with a goal eight minutes before full time, avenging a missed chance earlier in the half. The win puts Djurgården in a strong position to compete for a European qualification spot, trailing third-place Häcken by two points with a game in hand.

Meanwhile, Malmö FF's disappointing performance resulted in their third consecutive home loss. With this defeat, they remain seventh in the league, five points adrift of the top three. Malmö has now suffered eight losses in 18 matches this season.
