Do Thanh Binh returns to lead Can Tho City as its Party Secretary for a second term, acknowledging a sense of familiarity mixed with significant concerns for the city's future development. The Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam appointed Binh, a member of the Central Committee and former Minister of Home Affairs, to the position for the 2025-2030 term on July 25.

Binh expressed his honor and the heavy responsibility that comes with this reappointment. He noted the city's progress over the past year, including urban improvements and infrastructure development, which have positively impacted residents' lives. However, he also candidly admitted that Can Tho's growth still lags behind its potential and the expectations of the central government and its people.
