Vietnam's Central Committee Discusses New Development Model, Land Law Reforms

Vietnam's Central Committee convened for its 3rd plenum of the 14th term, with General Secretary and President Tô Lâm presiding. The committee and delegates are engaged in discussions on four critical agenda items.

Central to the deliberations are proposed regulations detailing actions party members must not undertake, intended to replace existing rules. Amendments to the party's statutes are also under review, alongside a significant proposal to innovate Vietnam's development model. Furthermore, the committee is assessing a resolution on land management, aiming to create conditions for Vietnam to become a high-income nation.

The plenum's afternoon session shifted to group discussions on comprehensive reviews of two key resolutions. One focuses on the sustainable development strategy for Vietnam's marine economy through 2030, with a vision extending to 2045. The other addresses proactive responses to climate change, resource management, and environmental protection, originally adopted in 2013.

Discussions are set to continue on July 22, as the committee progresses through its planned agenda, indicating a focus on long-term strategic planning and policy refinement within the Vietnamese government.
