Doctor Warns of LGBT Influence on Children, Urges Parental Education

Dr. Angga Wirahmadi, a pediatrician specializing in child development, has voiced concerns regarding the pervasive influence of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) campaigns targeting children and adolescents. He noted that these messages are increasingly being integrated into children's media, such as cartoons and television series, which he believes is detrimental to a child's moral foundation.

Dr. Angga highlighted that the growing exposure to LGBT themes among young people is a worrying trend, potentially leading to an increase in sexually transmitted infections, including HIV, among Indonesian adolescents. He emphasized that early detection of risky sexual behaviors, including those related to LGBT identification, is crucial. This can be facilitated through health assessments like the HEEADSSS approach, which includes evaluating a teenager's sexuality, sexual orientation, and risky behaviors.

"If we find a teenager with an LGBT orientation, we will ask if they have engaged in risky sexual behavior," Dr. Angga explained. "This allows for early detection and intervention to prevent the spread of diseases like HIV." He stressed the vital role of parents in providing comprehensive sexual education to their children from a young age. Dr. Angga believes that instilling religious values, which generally do not support LGBT lifestyles, is a fundamental step in building a strong moral compass and preventing deviations in sexual orientation.
