Oliver has gained notoriety for frequently approaching people and boats, often seeking interaction. However, experts emphasize that despite its seemingly tame demeanor, Oliver is a wild animal and its behavior should not be mistaken for an invitation to play, touch, or follow.

A fin slap can cause severe injuries, and being pulled into deeper waters could be fatal, especially for weaker swimmers or those who panic. The institute also reminds the public that dolphins are strictly protected species, and disturbing them is a punishable offense. Actions such as approaching in groups, swimming alongside, touching, or attempting to ride the dolphin are considered harassment under the law.
