Dolphins to Open Zenith Bank League Title Defence against First Deep Water on Sunday

The Dolphins Women Basketball Club is set to defend its NBBF/Zenith Bank Women Basketball Premier League title starting Sunday, August 16. Their championship defense begins with a match against First Deep Water, marking the commencement of the Atlantic Conference's first phase at the National Stadium's Indoor Sports Hall in Lagos.

The opening day's schedule includes several other key matchups. IGP Queens will play against newcomers Victoria Queens, while the league's record winner, First Bank, faces Royal Aces. Two-time winner MFM will also compete against the Bayelsa Blue Whales. Teams are expected to arrive on Saturday, August 15, with the Atlantic Conference's first phase concluding on August 22. A highly anticipated game in this phase will be between MFM and First Bank.

Meanwhile, the Savannah Conference will commence two days later, on Tuesday, August 18, at the Basketball Arena in Jos. Air Warriors will play Kada Angels in the first game. Other Savannah Conference opening day fixtures include Nasarawa Amazons against Ham Warriors, and Titans versus Nigeria Customs. The day will conclude with a game between Aso Sky Queens and Plateau Rocks. The Savannah Conference's first phase is scheduled to end on Monday, August 24, a day after the Atlantic Conference concludes.
