Dominican Republic weather to be affected by tropical wave

The Dominican Institute of Meteorology (Indomet) has announced that a tropical wave will significantly increase humidity across the nation, bringing scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms, especially during the afternoon hours.

Mornings are expected to be characterized by scattered clouds and minimal precipitation in most provinces. However, by midday, increased cloudiness is anticipated as the tropical wave enhances moisture levels.

The rainfall is projected to continue into the early evening, primarily affecting areas such as Greater Santo Domingo, Hato Mayor, Monte Plata, Sánchez Ramírez, Monseñor Nouel, La Vega, San Juan, Elías Piña, and Dajabón. Specific forecasts for the National District include cloud increases and isolated showers in the afternoon, while Santo Domingo Norte anticipates scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms.

Temperatures will remain warm, with lows between 24°C and 26°C and highs ranging from 34°C to 36°C in Santo Domingo. Indomet is also monitoring the remnants of Tropical Storm Dolly, located hundreds of kilometers east of the Lesser Antilles, though its probability of re-intensifying into a tropical cyclone is less than 10%. Another disturbance in the Gulf of Mexico is also under observation but poses no threat to the Dominican Republic.
