Valle Nuevo National Park reopens after forest fire controlled

Valle Nuevo National Park has reopened its doors to the public following the successful control of a forest fire that had been raging in the area for several days. The Ministry of Environment announced the reopening on Friday, signaling a return to normalcy for the popular natural attraction.

"After the forest fire registered in the area was controlled, Valle Nuevo National Park reopens its doors to the public," the institution stated on its social media channels. The ministry confirmed that "access is again enabled for visitors," allowing tourists and locals to once again enjoy the park's natural beauty.

While the fire has been brought under control, it remains uncertain whether it has been completely extinguished. On Thursday, approximately 70 park rangers, military personnel, and forest firefighters were engaged in intensive efforts to combat the blaze. The fire had reactivated near the Puerca Amarilla stream, and teams were working diligently to prevent its further spread.

Authorities had previously reported that the fire was under control, but challenging terrain and strong winds complicated the work of the deployed teams. The reopening indicates that the immediate threat has subsided, allowing for the resumption of public access.
