Dominican women's 4x400m relay wins gold, sets national record

The Dominican Republic's women's 4x400m relay team captured a dramatic gold medal at the XXV Central American and Caribbean Games in Santo Domingo. The quartet, composed of Bianka Acosta, Anabel Medina, Milagros Durán, and Estrella De Aza, delivered a flawless performance, crossing the finish line in a national record time of 3 minutes, 28.48 seconds.

Their electrifying victory on Friday night at the Félix Sánchez Olympic Stadium secured the top spot on the podium, with Colombia taking silver and Puerto Rico earning bronze. The win served as the crowning achievement for Dominican athletics on a night of significant success.

Earlier in the evening, the Dominican delegation celebrated individual triumphs. Ferdy Agramonte claimed gold in the men's 800 meters with a powerful final sprint, while Marysabel Senyú dominated the women's long jump competition to secure another gold medal.

The men's 4x400m relay team also contributed to the medal haul, earning a silver medal in a thrilling finish. The team, featuring Gabriel Moronta, Luguelin Santos, Lidio Feliz, and Yeral Núñez, clocked 3:00.94, narrowly missing gold to Puerto Rico's 3:00.75. Venezuela secured the bronze with a time of 3:01.64. These performances reaffirmed the Dominican Republic's status as a Caribbean athletics powerhouse.
