The order to review construction plans, optimize work hours (preferably at night), and increase the pace of repairs is necessary, but it begs the question of why such measures weren't implemented sooner. The current approach of blocking multiple lanes seems to prioritize repair speed over immediate public safety and economic flow, a trade-off that has clearly backfired.
