Dong Nai province ranks among top 4 nationally in budget revenue collection

Dong Nai province has emerged as a significant economic performer in Vietnam, ranking fourth nationally in budget revenue collection for the first six months of the year. The province accumulated 56.529 trillion dong in state budget revenue by June 30, a 27% increase compared to the same period last year. This figure represents 56% of the target set by the Prime Minister and 38% of the provincial People's Council's ambitious goal of 150 trillion dong.

The province's economic engine is running strong, with its Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) growing by 9.81% in the first half of the year, slightly surpassing the provincial government's projected growth rate. According to Ho Van Ha, Vice Chairman of the Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee, the province's current revenue collection places it behind only Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, and Hai Phong.

Key revenue streams are performing well, with collections from foreign-invested enterprises reaching 13.991 trillion dong (73% of the target), non-state industrial enterprises at 8.501 trillion dong (68%), and lottery revenue at 2.785 trillion dong (64%). Revenue from import-export activities also contributed significantly, reaching 13.138 trillion dong, or 51% of the target.

To achieve its full-year revenue target of 150 trillion dong, Dong Nai must collect over 93 trillion dong in the latter half of the year. The province is also addressing concerns about land hoarding and speculation, with local authorities tasked with identifying and handling such activities. The upcoming land auctions in August and September are expected to contribute an estimated 55 trillion dong towards the revenue goal.
