Dong Thap Fruit Festival attracts 500,000 visitors, generates 4.5 billion VND

The inaugural Đồng Tháp Fruit Festival concluded on June 8, 2026, drawing an impressive crowd of around 500,000 visitors and generating 4.5 billion VND in revenue. The four-day event transformed Đồng Tháp into a vibrant hub for agriculture enthusiasts and those celebrating the unique cultural values of the southern region.

Despite being the first of its kind, the festival exceeded expectations. The exhibition space featured 120 booths showcasing a diverse array of fruits, OCOP products, and agricultural technologies from businesses and cooperatives both within and outside the province. Beyond the significant revenue, the festival's greatest achievement was establishing crucial partnerships, aiming to expand market access for agricultural products.

Key to the festival's success was its emphasis on the "5 nhà" (5 houses) model, fostering close collaboration between farmers, scientists, businesses, credit institutions, and logistics providers. This integrated approach was complemented by specialized workshops on organized nguyên liệu (raw material) development, agricultural brand building, and the value chain for key fruits. These sessions provided scientific rationale and practical solutions for the province's agricultural development.

Nguyễn Phước Thiện, Vice Chairman of the Đồng Tháp Provincial People's Committee, declared the festival a success, leaving positive impressions. He highlighted the event as a vital starting point for a modern, ecological, and sustainable fruit industry strategy. Moving forward, provincial authorities are committed to improving fruit prices and increasing farmer incomes by organizing large-scale production, advancing technological applications, promoting digital transformation, and enhancing deep processing capabilities to boost competitiveness.
