Dongseong, Munheung Hakwon, Daewon Educational Foundation selected as excellent private schools in Chungbuk

Three private school foundations in South Korea's Chungbuk province have been recognized as excellent for 2026. Dongseong Hakwon (Daejeon Daewon High School), Munheung Hakwon (Boeun Boeun High School), and Daewon Educational Foundation (Jecheon Se Myung High School) were selected by the Chungbuk Provincial Office of Education.

The foundations received high marks for their public service, financial health, and overall school management. The provincial education office conducts a biennial management evaluation for private school foundations that receive financial deficit grants. Out of 27 private foundations in the region, 23 (including middle and high schools, and middle/high/university combinations) were evaluated.

Evaluation criteria included adherence to legal contribution requirements, transfer of operating profits to schools, management of income-generating assets, school accounting, school steering committee operations, integrity policies, and transparency and accountability in school management. While areas like adherence to legal contributions and profit transfers need improvement, the office plans to offer tailored consulting and supervision to foundations that scored lower.
