Dortmund allows Adeyemi to finalize Barcelona transfer

Borussia Dortmund has granted permission for striker Karim Adeyemi to skip his team's pre-season medical examinations, signaling his imminent departure to join Barcelona. The German club announced on social media that both Adeyemi and Kjell Wätjen have been authorized to negotiate with other clubs.

The 24-year-old German international is reportedly on the verge of a move to the Catalan giants for a transfer fee of 22 million euros, with an additional seven million euros in potential add-ons tied to title achievements. Adeyemi is expected to sign a five-year contract with Barcelona, keeping him at the club until June 30, 2031. The agreement also includes a clause for 20% of any future capital gains should the player be transferred again.

Barcelona is eager to finalize the signing swiftly so Adeyemi can join the team's pre-season training as soon as possible. The club is scheduled to resume work on Monday at the Joan Gamper Sports City for their physical and medical tests. Adeyemi would become Barcelona's second summer acquisition, following the signing of forward Anthony Gordon, who is set to play for England in the World Cup semi-final against Argentina.
