Doruk Mining Workers to Protest Again in Ankara Over Unpaid Dues

Workers at Doruk Madencilik are once again preparing to travel to Ankara for a protest, citing the company's failure to pay their wages and social security contributions from a period of mandatory unpaid leave. This marks a renewed effort by the Independent Mine Workers' Union (Bağımsız Maden-İş) to secure payments owed to its members.

The dispute centers on wages and insurance premiums that were allegedly not paid during a period when employees were placed on mandatory unpaid leave. Labor inspectors have reportedly ruled that these payments should be made. However, the workers claim that Yıldızlar SSS Holding, the parent company, has not complied with these directives, prompting the decision for further industrial action.

This planned protest follows a previous march by Bağımsız Maden-İş members from Eskişehir's Mihalıççık district to Ankara. The union announced that they will hold a press statement in front of the company premises on Monday. The workers' continued struggle highlights ongoing labor disputes and the challenges faced in enforcing payment orders against the company.
