Double homicide in Manga: victims, 57 and 25, were executed with gunshots from a car

A violent ambush in Montevideo's Manga neighborhood has left two men dead. The victims, aged 57 and 25, were shot and killed while traveling in a car on Monday night.

According to Montevideo police, the attack occurred around 8:30 p.m. at the intersection of Camino Paso de la Española and Cruz del Sur. Residents reported hearing multiple gunshots, prompting police to respond to the scene. Officers discovered a vehicle riddled with bullet holes.

The 57-year-old driver was found dead inside the car, while the 25-year-old victim was found deceased outside the vehicle, both having sustained fatal gunshot wounds. Forensic teams collected evidence, including several 9mm shell casings.

Preliminary reports suggest the victims were driving when a second car approached. Two armed individuals emerged from the second vehicle and repeatedly fired at the victims' car before escaping. Emergency medical services confirmed the deaths of both men at the scene. The Prosecutor's Office and the Homicide Department are actively working to identify and apprehend the perpetrators.
