Dozens of Drug Dealers Arrested in Cirebon; Suspects Include Private Employees, Daily Laborers & Unemployed

Authorities in Cirebon have intensified their crackdown on narcotics and illegal hard drugs, leading to the arrest of 34 suspects across 33 separate cases. The Cirebon Police Resort (Polresta Cirebon) reported a successful operation targeting drug trafficking and the distribution of unregistered pharmaceutical products within the region.

Kapolresta Cirebon, Kombes Pol Imara Utama, stated that the arrests involved individuals from diverse professional backgrounds. The suspects include private sector employees, self-employed individuals, daily wage laborers, and those currently unemployed. This broad range of backgrounds highlights the pervasive nature of drug-related activities within the community.

During the operation, police confiscated a substantial quantity of illicit substances and unregistered medications. Seized items include 14.31 grams of methamphetamine, 21.12 grams of synthetic tobacco, 7,166 pills of trihexyphenidyl, 10,717 tramadol pills, and 48 hexymer pills. Additionally, Rp8.4 million in cash and other supporting items were recovered. The police emphasized their commitment to eradicating drug abuse and illegal substances to protect the younger generation.
