DR Congo Party Calls for Unity and Peace on 27th Anniversary

On the occasion of its 27th anniversary, the RCD/K-ML political party, based in Beni, Democratic Republic of Congo, has issued a call for general mobilization of Congolese citizens in favor of peace and national development.

When the country was divided, the honorable Antipas Mbusa Nyamwisi played a major role in bringing political actors together. This led to results, including the elections of 2006, 2011, 2018, and even 2023.

Amidst persistent security, political, and socio-economic challenges, RCD/K-ML officials believe it is time for Congolese people to unite and move beyond repeated crises. The party asserts its history is intertwined with efforts to stabilize and rebuild the country, particularly after periods of conflict.

Maître Déogratias Nyamwisi Muvingi, a party member, recalled the significant role played by the party's founder, Antipas Mbusa Nyamwisi, in efforts that contributed to the country's reunification and the organization of electoral cycles. He stressed the need for collective mobilization to restore lasting peace, especially in regions affected by ongoing violence in eastern DRC.

The party also urged its members and supporters to contribute to the DRC's development, viewing stability as essential for relaunching development initiatives and improving living conditions. The RCD/K-ML paid tribute to its members lost to conflict and instability, stating that these losses strengthen their determination. Through this anniversary, the party aims to inject new political momentum based on unity, responsibility, and resilience.
