Dr Pramod Joshi reappointed as Nepal Health Research Council member secretary

Dr. Pramod Joshi has been reappointed as the member secretary of the Nepal Health Research Council, resuming a role in which he has prior experience. He officially took the oath of office and secrecy on Friday before Nisha Mehta, the Minister of Health and Food Hygiene.

Dr. Joshi brings a wealth of experience in health research, medical services, and administration to his renewed position. His academic background includes an MBBS from Odessa State Medical University in Ukraine and an MS in Orthopaedics and Trauma from the National Academy of Medical Sciences (NAMS) in Nepal. He further honed his skills with a fellowship in arthroplasty and arthroscopy at Indraprastha Apollo Hospital in India.

Dr Pramod Joshi has been appointed member secretary of the Nepal Health Research Council.

Prior to this reappointment, Dr. Joshi served as the council's executive member secretary from 2024 to 2026. His career also includes significant roles such as medical superintendent of the National Trauma Center, founding director of Geta Hospital, and senior orthopaedic surgeon at Seti Provincial Hospital. His extensive background is expected to contribute to the council's ongoing research and health initiatives.
