Dragons Back on Ice, Ulčar Announces Interesting Documentary (VIDEO)

HK Olimpija, Ljubljana's hockey team, has commenced its preparations for the upcoming ICE league season, with the primary objective of capturing the championship title. General Director Anže Ulčar and player Bine Mašič presented the team's readiness, both on and off the ice.

Ulčar outlined the club's changes, innovations, and aspirations for the "dragon's nest." The season kicks off in just over five weeks with three consecutive away games, starting against Hungary's Ferencvaros. The team comprises 27 players, and Ljubljana is optimistic about the new season. Before the official start, Olimpija will play six exhibition matches, including two away games against KAC Klagenfurt and Pustertal, a home game against Villach, and a tournament in Bremerhaven, Germany.

Preparations will be documented by cameras for an upcoming film about the club's inner workings. "If I look at the big picture, we set a goal two seasons ago to win the ICE league within four years. That is a goal, but not a promise. Our commitment is to do everything in our power, in terms of conditions, staffing, and everything else, to achieve this in the next two years," Ulčar stated. The team has been strengthened by forwards Luka Gomboc, Chris Douglas, Joshua Lawrence, and experienced Slovenian national team members Žiga Jeglič and Jan Urbas, as well as national team goalie Žan Us. The club also announced a regular podcast, with the documentary film set to be released in September.
