Drug operation in Şanlıurfa and Bursa results in 135 arrests

Turkish law enforcement has apprehended 135 suspects in anti-drug operations across Şanlıurfa and Bursa provinces. The Interior Ministry announced the successful busts, which were coordinated by the Gendarmerie General Command's Anti-Narcotics Crimes Department and local prosecutor's offices.

The extensive operations involved a significant deployment of 900 gendarmerie personnel, including 142 public order teams, 25 commando teams, and 6 mobile patrol units. Ten specially trained narcotic detection dogs also assisted in the efforts. Authorities seized various quantities of narcotics and numerous drug paraphernalia during the raids.

Following the detentions, 129 of the suspects were formally arrested, while 6 others were subjected to judicial control measures. The Ministry congratulated the gendarmerie, the department, the prosecutor's offices, and all involved personnel for their successful work in combating drug trafficking.
