Drug trafficking ring dismantled in Attica; psychologist, taxi driver, singer implicated

Authorities in Attica have dismantled a significant drug trafficking network that operated extensively in the Haidari and West Attica regions, leading to the arrest of three individuals. The investigation has brought to light a sophisticated operation involving a core distributor, a psychologist serving as a primary supplier, and a taxi driver facilitating the illicit trade.

The alleged ringleader, a 41-year-old man, is accused of orchestrating at least 90 drug distribution incidents between early July and August 23. His activities reportedly included supplying cocaine, raw and processed cannabis, and other narcotics. Authorities identified a psychologist with an office in Piraeus as a crucial figure, allegedly supplying the 41-year-old with significant quantities of various drugs, including MDMA and LSD, under the code name "Doctor."

Financial records suggest the 41-year-old handled substantial amounts of money, with one conversation indicating the purchase of cannabis for 6,000 euros per kilogram. Another instance suggests plans to spend 15,000 euros on other narcotics. Beyond direct client meetings, the distributor also allegedly used a transport company to send drug packages, referred to as "parcels."

Adding a notable dimension to the case, the investigation revealed that the 41-year-old had cultivated a stable clientele that included a well-known folk singer. The police have reportedly uncovered conversations and evidence documenting these contacts and transactions. Furthermore, the accused allegedly attempted to recruit an individual to work for him as a motorcycle courier for drug deliveries, proposing a daily work schedule.
