Drunk driver found asleep at the wheel in middle of Gangnam road

A driver was apprehended by police in Seoul's bustling Gangnam district for drunk driving after his vehicle came to a halt in the middle of a busy road during evening rush hour. The driver had apparently fallen asleep at the wheel, prompting a witness to alert authorities.

Responding to the report, officers from the Gangnam Police Station arrived at the scene around 6:50 p.m. on August 11. They found the driver asleep inside the stationary vehicle. To prevent further movement, police cars were positioned in front of and behind the car before officers woke the driver.

During the process of the driver exiting the vehicle, the car moved slightly and made minor contact with a police patrol car. The driver was subsequently taken into custody on suspicion of violating the Road Traffic Act due to drunk driving.

Authorities are currently investigating the full circumstances surrounding the incident. The driver is facing charges related to operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.
