Drunken Relatives Clash in Car, Leading to Assault Investigation in Radviliškis District

A domestic dispute involving intoxicated relatives escalated into a physical assault in Radviliškis district, prompting a police investigation. The incident occurred early Sunday morning, around 2:20 a.m., in the village of Linkaičiai. According to police reports, a man born in 1957 allegedly injured a man born in 1980 while they were inside a car parked in a yard.

Both individuals involved were found to be heavily intoxicated. The victim registered a blood alcohol content of 1.06 promille, while the suspect had a level of 1.20 promille. Medical assistance was provided to the injured man, who is currently receiving outpatient treatment. The suspect has been taken into custody and is being held in a detention center.

Police have initiated a preliminary investigation into the incident under Article 140, Part 2 of the Criminal Code. This article pertains to causing physical pain or minor health impairment to a close relative or family member. Penalties for such offenses can range from public works and restriction of liberty to arrest or imprisonment for up to two years.
