DSS still detaining crew of plane that landed on Delta road - Keyamo

The pilot and crew of a private aircraft that made an emergency landing on a road in Delta State, Nigeria, are still being held by the Department of State Services (DSS). Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, confirmed on Thursday that the individuals are undergoing rigorous questioning and that the investigation's findings will be reported to the President. Keyamo described the incident as a security breach. He also addressed concerns about Nigeria's airspace safety, asserting that it is very safe, citing high scores in International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) audits under the current administration. Meanwhile, plans are progressing for a superhighway to be constructed behind Murtala Muhammed Airport in Lagos, connecting to the Mafoluku area. This Public-Private Partnership project aims to alleviate traffic congestion. Additionally, the ministry is moving forward with concessioning unviable airports to improve efficiency and revenue generation, while also working to address the significant debts owed by domestic airlines to government agencies.
