Dubai Chamber Launches Uzbekistan Business Council to Boost Trade

The Dubai Chamber of Commerce has officially launched the Uzbekistan Business Council, a new initiative designed to significantly strengthen economic partnerships between Dubai and Uzbekistan. This council operates under the umbrella of Dubai Chambers and aims to serve as a pivotal platform for enhancing cooperation, supporting the growth of trade and investment, and expanding collaborative opportunities across diverse sectors.

During the council's inaugural meeting, participants actively explored avenues for developing new business prospects and advancing mutual investments. Key discussions focused on reinforcing connections between Uzbek companies and their Dubai-based counterparts. The agenda included facilitating the exchange of expertise and data, as well as identifying opportunities for organizing bilateral business events to further deepen engagement.

Ulugbekhon Maksumov, Chairman of the Uzbekistan Business Council in Dubai, described the launch as an important milestone in the relationship between Uzbekistan and the UAE. He stressed that the council is more than just a business organization; it's a practical platform for entrepreneurs to connect with trusted partners and for investors to discover new opportunities, ultimately fostering growth for companies in both countries.

The establishment of this council underscores Dubai's growing importance as a hub for Uzbek companies and investors. Evidence of this burgeoning relationship includes non-oil trade between Dubai and Uzbekistan reaching Dhs10.3 billion in 2025. Furthermore, the number of active Uzbek companies registered with the Dubai Chamber of Commerce saw a substantial annual growth of 21.3%, reaching 826 members. The chamber also welcomed 75 new Uzbek companies in the first half of 2026, indicating a dynamic and expanding economic connection.
