Dubrovnik Summer Games closes with soprano Pretty Yende, one of today's most brilliant artists

The 77th Dubrovnik Summer Games will conclude with a grand opera gala on Tuesday, held in front of the Dubrovnik Cathedral. The event will feature a stellar lineup of performers, including acclaimed sopranos Pretty Yende and Darija Auguštan, alongside tenor Matteo Ivan Rašić.

The gala concert promises a rich program of operatic and operetta arias, duets, and orchestral numbers. The repertoire spans works by celebrated composers such as Mozart, Verdi, Donizetti, Puccini, Dvořák, Tchaikovsky, Bernstein, and Gershwin, offering a diverse musical experience for the audience.

Croatian soprano Darija Auguštan, despite her youth, already has an enviable list of leading roles in operas and operettas to her name. Among them are Violetta, Musetta, Pamina, Fiordiligi, Adela, Countess Marica, Lauretta, Magda, Micaela, The Cunning Little Vixen. Equally successful as a concertmistress, Darija confirms her versatility and musicality with her interpretations.

Croatian soprano Darija Auguštan, despite her youth, has already secured significant roles in operas and operettas. Her versatile talent is also evident in her concert performances. Tenor Matteo Ivan Rašić, trained at the Tyrolean State Conservatory and the Mozarteum in Salzburg, has received accolades such as the "Opera for Peace" award and the "Tyrolean Classical Singer Prize."

The HRT Symphony Orchestra, with a history dating back to 1929, will provide musical accompaniment under the direction of Sebastian Lang-Lessing. Lang-Lessing is known for his versatile conducting career, holding positions such as Music Director of the Korean National Opera and Music Director Emeritus of the San Antonio Symphony.
