PPD donates 200,000 euros for new Vukovar stadium

Prvo plinarsko društvo (PPD) has made a significant contribution to Vukovar's development by donating 200,000 euros towards the construction of a new football stadium. This substantial donation is the largest single contribution to the city's 'You are Vukovar' campaign and coincides with PPD's celebration of its 25th anniversary in business.

The new stadium, officially named '12 Croatian Policemen', will hold both sporting and memorial significance. Mayor Marijan Pavliček expressed gratitude, emphasizing that the stadium will be a living monument to the twelve Croatian police officers who lost their lives. He believes the stadium will be a vibrant hub for the community, filled with fans and used by generations of young athletes.

Pavliček highlighted the donation's importance, noting that it comes from a company that began its operations in Vukovar. He encouraged other businesses to support the stadium project, underscoring the collective effort required to bring the vision to fruition.

Ivana Pek Lučić, a member of PPD's management board, stated that the company wanted to commemorate its 25th anniversary by investing in the community from which it originated. She explained that the company's growth has created jobs for young people in Vukovar and Slavonia, allowing them to work in their home region. PPD sought a project that would leave a lasting legacy and benefit the city's residents, making the stadium an ideal choice as it connects Vukovar's history with its future development.
