Duksung Women's University Professor Kim Keon-hee Awarded Cambodian Diplomatic Medal

Kim Keon-hee, a distinguished professor at Duksung Women's University, has been honored by the Cambodian government with the Royal Order of Sahametrei, Commander grade. The award acknowledges her significant contributions to Cambodia's agricultural and educational sectors, as well as her role in strengthening diplomatic ties between South Korea and Cambodia.

Professor Kim has collaborated closely with Cambodia's Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries. Her efforts have focused on advancing local agricultural technology and bolstering the education system. She has actively worked to address priorities outlined in Cambodia's National Strategy for Food Security and Nutrition and to achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Furthermore, she has been instrumental in developing educational programs and training agricultural professionals to enhance Cambodia's academic and research capabilities. This initiative has fostered mutual trust between the Cambodian government and Korean academia, playing a crucial role in advancing scientific and technological exchange and friendly relations between the two nations.

Through the Leading University Project for International Cooperation (LUPIC), supported by the Ministry of Education and the National Research Foundation of Korea, Professor Kim helped establish Cambodia's first educational foundation for food and nutrition. She also contributed to adapting Korean-style nutrition management systems to Cambodia's specific conditions. Duksung Women's University highlighted this as a meaningful achievement, demonstrating how domestic universities' educational and research capabilities can contribute to the industrial development and policy solutions of developing countries.
