Duksung Women's University to Host Career Exploration Event for High Schoolers

Duksung Women's University is opening its campus to high school students for a career exploration event designed to guide them through their academic and professional journeys. The '2026 Duksung Career Compass,' scheduled for August 6, invites first and second-year students from high schools in the Seoul metropolitan area to engage in activities aimed at clarifying their future paths.

This event is part of the university's contribution to the 2026 High School Education Contribution University Support Project. A key component will be the 'Irumi Mentoring' sessions, led by current Duksung students who will act as mentors. They will share their personal experiences with career choices, academic life, and learning strategies across various fields, including humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, and pharmacy.

Participants will have the opportunity to communicate freely with these student mentors about choosing majors and courses, high school subject selection, and university life. The mentoring sessions will also include activities like creating vision boards to help students concretize their career plans. Additionally, the 'Duksung Major Experience Bus' will offer hands-on activities in six different departments, such as bioengineering, psychology, political science and international relations, pharmacy, child and family studies, and business administration, allowing students to directly engage with potential fields of study.

Following the mentoring and major experience sessions, attendees will have lunch and embark on a campus tour. This will provide a firsthand look at the university's educational environment and facilities, enhancing their understanding of university life. Lee Ho-rim, the admissions director, emphasized the event's purpose: "This program is designed to help high school students thoughtfully plan their high school years based on the vivid experiences and advice of university student mentors, and to explore majors that align with their career aspirations and aptitudes."
