Ecatepec Mayor Inaugurates Long-Awaited Infrastructure Improvements in Santa María Tulpetlac

In the Ejido de Santa María Tulpetlac neighborhood of Ecatepec, Mayor Azucena Cisneros Coss inaugurated the repaving of six streets with hydraulic concrete and the installation of new water and drainage networks on two others. These improvements are part of the "Cimientos de Esperanza Mano a Mano" program, bringing long-awaited services to residents who had endured over 13 years without them.

The inauguration ceremony included the cutting of a ribbon for the new water and drainage lines on Cerrada de Lirio and Cerrada de Laureles, streets located near the Gran Canal. Residents expressed their deep gratitude, noting that previous municipal administrations had failed to address their needs. Elvira López, a resident of Cerrada de Lirio, shared her community's struggle since 2013, relying on water purchased from trucks and using septic tanks due to the lack of infrastructure.

Francisco Reyes Vázquez, director of the local water authority Sapase, detailed the work, which included installing 200 meters of water pipes and 30-centimeter diameter drainage pipes. The project presented challenges, notably the need to reroute around a Pemex utility line to connect the drainage system to the Gran Canal. The repaved streets, Crisantemo Sur, Jazmín, Girasol, Prolongación Cedro, Prolongación Ciprés, and Guadalajara, were completed under the "Cimientos de Esperanza" initiative, bringing the total number of repaved streets in the community to 53.

Azucena Cisneros promised and she kept it. We are very grateful because we finally got the water and drainage. The previous municipal presidents just kept us going in circles, telling us to submit letters, calling us in, and we went, and they never provided a solution to what we were asking for.
