ECG Announces Planned Power Outages for Sunday, June 7

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has scheduled essential maintenance work that will result in power outages on Sunday, June 7, 2026. The planned exercises aim to improve service delivery and network reliability across the country.

In the Tema Region, the power outage is set to occur between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM. Affected areas include Wild Life Gate, Army Recruits Training School, PV Quarries, Eastern Quarries, Twin Quarries, Recycling, Inzag, Mawu Be Ji Be, Able Academy, Mavis Industries, Polyster, and Community 25 Mall, along with surrounding vicinities. An updated notice expanded the scope to include Able Academy, Mavis Industries, Polyster, and Community 25 Mall.

ECG has expressed regret for the inconvenience that will arise out of these exercises.

The Accra East Region will experience a longer outage, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Communities impacted include Doblo, Nsuma, Satellite, Sapeiman, Medie, Kotoku, Pobiman, Blue Skies, Hebron, Ahodwo, Fotobi, Pakrom, Obudan, and Kwasikrom, among others. The ECG issued these notices on Friday, June 5, 2026.

ECG expressed regret for the inconvenience these exercises may cause and advised affected customers to make alternative arrangements for power-dependent activities. The company assured that power supply would be restored promptly after the maintenance is completed and encouraged customers to monitor official communication channels for further updates.
