Ecuadorian Keny Arroyo scores stunning goal in Brazil

Ecuadorian winger Keny Arroyo is capturing attention in Brazil with a string of impressive performances for Cruzeiro. In his latest match against Atlético Mineiro in the Copa do Brasil quarterfinals, Arroyo netted a remarkable goal from outside the penalty area, adding to his growing tally.

This strike was his third goal in his last five games for Cruzeiro, all of which occurred during the month of August. The goal against Atlético Mineiro came in the 60th minute, a powerful left-footed shot that found the top right corner of the net, despite the opposing goalkeeper getting a touch.

Arroyo's scoring form extends beyond this recent match. In a previous Brasileirao fixture against Flamengo, he also scored, helping Cruzeiro to a 2-1 comeback victory. Before that, he had scored against Flamengo again in an earlier match, and in the first leg of the Copa Libertadores round of 16, he scored to secure a 1-1 draw for his team.

At just 20 years old, Arroyo has accumulated a total of seven goals and three assists in 20 appearances for the Belo Horizonte club this season. His last call-up to the Ecuadorian national team was in November 2024, indicating his potential impact on the international stage as well.
