Eduardo Bolsonaro Meets Netanyahu in Washington

Former federal deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at Blair House, the U.S. government's official guest residence in Washington. The meeting occurred while Netanyahu was in the U.S. for discussions with President Donald Trump and to attend the funeral of Senator Lindsey Graham.

During the encounter, Eduardo Bolsonaro, accompanied by his wife, discussed pressing global issues and inquired about the health of former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro, as well as the upcoming elections in Brazil. Bolsonaro shared his belief that Brazil will soon return to a path of alignment with major Western democracies, reinforcing partnerships with the United States and Israel.

These were times when Brazil walked alongside the great Western democracies, strengthening its partnership with the United States and Israel. I am convinced that these days will return. And it is not far off.

This meeting follows previous engagements between Eduardo Bolsonaro and Netanyahu. In January, Eduardo and Senator Flávio Bolsonaro met with Netanyahu and other Israeli officials in Israel. During that visit, Eduardo Bolsonaro referred to Hamas members as "savages." Netanyahu has also previously sent a video message supporting Flávio Bolsonaro's presidential candidacy, calling him a "champion of friendship between our peoples."

Concerns have been raised within President Lula's government regarding potential foreign interference in Brazil's elections, particularly following recent endorsements of Flávio Bolsonaro by U.S. President Donald Trump and Argentinian President Javier Milei. There is apprehension that such external influence may intensify as the election approaches.
