Education Ministry delays SHS placement results to September 4

Ghana’s Education Ministry has postponed the release of senior high school placement results by four days after requests for more time from parents, guardians, students and school heads.

The 2026/2027 Computerised School Selection and Placement System results, initially scheduled for August 31, will now be released on September 4. The ministry said the extra time would allow schools and families to complete data submission and uploads to the West African Examinations Council and CSSPS platforms.

Ministry data showed that about 20,000 qualified students had not yet had their school choices uploaded by school heads, parents or guardians. Officials said the extension would prevent pending submissions from excluding those students from the placement process.

The ministry urged all affected groups to use the additional period to submit outstanding information. It said it remained committed to a fair, transparent and orderly process that gives every qualified student an opportunity to secure a place in a senior high school or a technical and vocational education and training institution.
